In order to show Mr. Kennedy’s connection to California, where he has a home with his wife, the actress Cheryl Hines, a lawyer for the voters asked about his fondness for ravens. Mr. Kennedy said he liked to train them to eat out of his hand and perform tricks like putting poker chips in people’s pockets.

Mr. Corbett tried to show that Mr. Kennedy had an active falconry license in California, something that he had denied in a sworn July 2 affirmation to the court. On Wednesday, Mr. Kennedy said he did not believe he did, and asserted he had “never practiced falconry” in California.

After finishing his testimony on Wednesday, Mr. Kennedy sidestepped the bear ordeal, saying that he’d rather talk about issues like mortgages and the price of groceries. But, after he was asked if he’d picked up anything else off the road, he said: “I’ve been picking up roadkill my whole life. I have a freezer full of it. A thousand cubic-foot freezer.” A spokeswoman later clarified that the freezer was actually 21 cubic feet, and that the candidate no longer has it. The whereabouts of the roadkill was unclear.

Everything around him is so dumb

I still can’t quite believe it happened. Biden was declaring he was going to do his best and accept a loss right up until he dropped out.

I didn’t expect Biden to drop out yet here we are.

I didn’t expect the overwhelmingly positive response to a Kamala candidacy, but here we are with that too.

I didn’t expect the polls to continue to move in her favor without a ceiling in sight. She’s not stabilized, she’s still moving up in numbers.

Feels fine to have hope for more little miracles.

Lower level Dems have started warming up the crowd.

The republican mayor of Mesa AZ is currently trashing Trump and his own party. The crowd goes wild.

Ok now Ruben Gallego’s ex-wife is up there making fun of Trump. She’s also the mayor of Phoenix.

That’s very cool but it’s hard to extrapolate from one district.

I can extrapolate that Harris is likely to win Washington State!

So in the 2022 primary, Dems took 49.6% in WA08, in the general they took it 53-46. Now they’re combining for 55%, which you could reason would portend a bigger victory than in 2022. They also came in under 50% in the primary in 2020 and Biden took it 52-45.

Now, I’m not sure how much WA08 extrapolates to other suburban districts in swing states, but this can’t be a bad thing!

Neither in 2022 nor in this primary was Trump on the ballot. I wouldn’t read anything into it.

Others are more concerned about what they are seeing in private polling. Two private polls conducted in Ohio recently by Republican pollsters — which Mr. Trump carried in 2020 with 53 percent of the vote — showed him receiving less than 50 percent of the vote against Ms. Harris in the state, according to a person with direct knowledge of the data.
