Obviously a lot of time left but from my seat Biden is playing a tough hand very well so far. Hanging back and just doing good stuff is the right move. Not taking the bait on Israel, protests, etc. When the campaign starts in earnest Trump will inevitably light himself on fire and all the critics from the left will come home. Dial up a few rate cuts between now and November so consumers feel better, maybe cancel some more student debt, talk about abortion abortion abortion.
Rescheduling MJ was a pretty strong play as was waiting to play it until six months before the election. Obviously very annoying to those of us smart enough to realize this means he could have done it his second day in office.
Always sad when you see a first term politician you had a lot of respect for show their first sign of whatever is wrong with Sinema. Once you do whatever it is you need to do to make this level of moral compromise it’s a bit like building a weapons manufacturing plant or having a marine division… you’re going to keep finding reasons to use it.
Hey really is Sinema with worse fashion. Still better than Doc. Oz, but man.
The whole “I only wear hoodies” is just a minstrel act at this point. Working-class people do know how to put on a suit and tie when appropriate, you just look like a privileged asshole showing up to work as a member of Congress in shorts and a hoodie.
He didn’t change on this issue, it’s always been something he has disagreed with progressives on. His takes on border security are the ones that seem to have changed, but I’m guessing he’s just saying what he thinks he needs to say in that regard.
