Yeah this whole thing has perfectly reasonable explanation. Lot of people were vaguely uneasy about Biden age but then he absolutely nailed the (teleprompter) state of union and everyone started feeling better. Then we got a good look of him without a prompter and everyone panicked. It’s not some complex story
Trump at convention: “I’m not supposed to be here”
all of the age-related concerns about Biden exist for Trump
This just isn’t true. Trump did 90 minutes at the convention and did a 2-hour speech at a rally last night. Biden could not do this. He is physically frail. He’s out of gas. There is no way he can match Trump’s stamina in a way that’s competitive for the next 3 months.
But more importantly he’s mentally out of gas too. The debate performance was indefensible. He was undoubtedly over-prepared. Especially at the beginning he was trying to squeeze too many talking points into his answers, speaking too fast. It all came out as a jumbled mess. The clips that got the most playback were individually devastating, but even taken as a whole performance, it’s indisputable that his mind is just not sharp enough.
Of course Trump’s content is all bullshit. But that doesn’t matter. There was a tweet on debate night, something like “Biden is saying true things incoherently, Trump is spouting lies coherently”. Trump is making his case, such as it is, with conviction, with consistency, and, to many of the people listening, with a cohesive message of apocalyptic peril.
Here’s the thing about Libs like Will Stancil. They’re fucking annoying man. Predictably, the people he likes are also generally very annoying. Nobody wants to vote for annoying people.
I am unfortunately stationed at a family reunion for my in laws, and am collecting the Kamala hot takes.
These folks are what I would have described as light racist/deplorables but have been fully radicalized to Y’all Qaeda over the last 4 years so it’s been fun for sure.
My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.
