This is absurd. Because someone estimates that the chances of winning are worse when there are absolutely valid concerns about getting a replacement candidate on the ballot, campaign finance laws, subverting any semblance of a democratic process, and throwing the whole party into utter chaos, therefore they don’t think the election is important? Geez man. Biden had a bad debate. That does not by any means imply that replacing him this late is guaranteed to be better or that people could not possibly come to conclusions different from yours.

The Supreme Court really has been doing a bang up job of making sure everyone in America understands they aren’t just voting for Biden.
Arm swing is early and comes before all that other stuff usually, but the issue isn’t if he has it or not which is irrelevant but it’s that it looks really bad to people and fits the narrative that he having some sort of age related or medical issues

Who is kicking them to the curb? Biden acknowledges reality and then him and Kamala get together to decide who is the best candidate for the job. If they decide Kamala then I’m willing to support it 100% even if I might prefer another candidate.
The people close to him, and running the party, knew the condition he was in. They could have made it an open primary and pressured him out a year ago, but they lied and told everyone he was fine. Now we have to give them the credit of good faith, valid concerns it’s too late?
So we’re supposed to assume that all Dems are going to happily show up to vote for a candidate that they don’t believe is mentally fit? But assuming that Black voters will show up to vote for a better replacement candidate is too far?
Why do you assume that Black voters are less virtuous than other Dem voters? I’m not saying you are, but eDems kinda come across as racist when they express things like this.

How long are we gonna pretend this isn’t a big deal? Long enough to not be able to do anything about it? Most important election ever though.
Yes, it was a bad debate. Yes, Biden was already losing and not only blew one of his best chances to take over the narrative and take the lead but he actually made it worse. No, replacing him is not obviously better. No, mumbling through the debate is not equivalent to a dementia diagnosis.
Gonna keep hammering this point home until you get it. The diagnosis doesn’t matter. The voting public’s view of him matters. It’s over. Stop rearranging deck chairs on the titanic when there’s several perfectly good life boats available.

This is great, too. We just need our 81 year old who they didn’t trust with the Super Bowl interview, who just had the worst performance in televised debate history, to have a grand slam speech at the DNC, crush the next debate, and run good on the economy. If all that happens, he might eek out a close win.
This is the case for keeping Biden on the ticket lol… That’s all they’ve got. And no plans for a big interview or presser this week?
And the chaser is they’re barely contesting that he’s unfit for the job, they’re going with “maybe that doesn’t matter!”

I think it’s a big deal, but I also think that pulling a magic switcheroo changes “Dems In Disarray” from a joke headline to a real thing that has a real impact on the election. Dems lose either way.
Given two uncertain paths, I think it’s instructive to remember the Robert Hur thing and how Ezra Klein (and others) was losing his mind about it, and it basically completely disappeared from the news cycle until Thursday night. This could too.
