fwiw, I haven’t used it yet but along these lines I saw this site which focuses on high-impact downballot races and supposedly doesn’t cause you to be spammed with texts forever:
We analyze thousands of elections from President to school board to find which candidates need your support the most. We provide our recommendations for free and we don’t sell or share your contact information.
Seems like no big convention bump, and the race is settling into Harris by 3-5. Was hoping for better, hopefully the debate is another turning point in our favor.
Yeah I think at this point with the polarized climate and the polling seeming to kind of max out in that range, the focus should be almost entirely on energizing her voters, increasing registration among her potential voters, and demoralizing Trump voters. This seems to mostly be what she’s focused on, so that’s good.
One of the things I feared going into the convention was that Biden dropping out and the momentum behind Kamala was the convention bump. Kind of seems like that may be the case. Hopefully it doesn’t retreat.
And fuck you motherfucker with your smarmy thumbs up at the tomb of the unknown. We were just there this year. The guards should have just unloaded on him. Fuck the secret service. He was desecrating ALL the war dead.
Yeah, this election is a flip at best. Still better than we were two months ago, but this sure doesn’t smell like a dem landslide to me. I also think you’ll be shocked to find out that a lot of the dipshits who weren’t going to vote for Biden “because he was too old” are actually just going to vote for Trump because Fuck You, that’s why.
On the plus side I don’t think we’ve ever seen a campaign with such divergent total quantities of resources deployed. Trump really has stolen most of the money he’s raised and Kamala really has had a record haul. The Democrats really have assembled a record ground game the the GOP really outsourced all of that to PAC’s and ‘the religious’.
IDK we’re going to see if political organizing actually matters or not. If it does tied in the polls should = landslide. If it doesn’t we can all stop doing stuff like donating and volunteering and just vote.
And that’s all beside the sheer insanity of the choice we’re all being presented with here. It’s also directly in contradiction to the results of the last 3 elections + the demographics of the situation.
Do what you’re going to do. Volunteer, donate, and definitely vote. Convince people you have influence over who live in swing states to hold their noses and vote for a Democrat. Focus on the ones who don’t care more than the ones you have to convince of something they’re much easier.
It’s kind of an interesting situation. Lot of people still have no idea who Harris is, off course got huge pump from plugged in people but now it’s kind of back to a normal early campaign of building name recognition but is only 2 months out. Getting something like a very visible swift endorsement next month would be nice
