The Indictments of Donald J. Trump: Indictment News & Updatesof the Orange Turd

I think we need a separate thread just for indictment related news so it doesn’t get buried in 50 million Trump Tweets. Anyway, this is a fairly major development, someone is pleading guilty (probably cooperating) in the GA case:

Just noticed he’s getting probation. Yeah, he’s definitely cooperating.

Gotta love CNN leaving out the most important part, the charges were reduced from racketeering to misdemeanors. Lol he is really really definitely cooperating.

That’s a signal to other co-defendants too, cooperate quickly if you want to get out from under this.

Yup, cooperating, here’s the money quote:

Jack Smith making all the filings, I’m sure this will result is a maybe the most sternly worded letter in US history.

Using fox as the source there some chefs kiss IMO

It would be really funny if his bail got revoked like mine would be in his shoes.

It’ll never happen obviously.

Fun Fact: The Federal Judiciary generally can stay open about 2-3 weeks past a government shutdown and then it runs out of money too (fine/fee collection keeps it afloat for that long). If the government stays shut down through early next year, Trump’s federal trial will be pushed off.

If it were me. “Your honor, the defendant has made numerous statements urging prosecutors to take steps to reduce violent crime in their jurisdictions. Research shows one of the best ways to do that is to get illegal guns off the streets, and charge the felons who illegally possess them. It is with that in mind that we bring an additional charge…”

Pretty sure Trump has encouraged the shutdown on these grounds, hasn’t he?

This shit will end when a single powerful enough person is inconvenienced. I think the last one ended when the air traffic controllers stopped working.

Yup.

How pissed is he with the 45 day delay?

Might work out to his benefit honestly. A shutdown yesterday was almost certainly never going to last until March. He really needs a shutdown around early February.

Some serious LOL LAW happening this morning

Gag order. Now the real test comes when he inevitably violates it.

Yeah the gag order was inevitable and the way for them not to just send him to pretrial detention immediately without having to be too obviously bending over backwards for him. He’s going to violate the gag order and they’re going to have to come up with an inevitably less credible reason for not locking him up.

Trump never does anyone, including himself, any favors.

Yeah 1,000,000% this. Just enjoy watching the prosecutors squirm a bit. It’s nice that this once they’re prosecuting an actual bad guy, but they’re still cops.

Not worried about Trump fading this any way but death. He doesn’t have to just hang one jury he has to hang several and two of those aren’t in good jurisdictions for him.

And if they want to stop it all they have to do is treat Trump like any other defendant and put him in pretrial detention for explosively running his mouth. I would love that and it would be way more fun than watching them suffer, but I’ll take the consolation prize.
