Biden and Harris lunch at 12:15, all staff call at 12:30? Sounds like he’s telling her and then the CoS is telling the staff. Then it’ll leak, and a national address tomorrow night?
Edit: and if she’s finding out at 12:15, she’s not in the room and she’s not going to love what she hears - open process.
It’s basically what I suggested so I’m all for it, I think the speed of the process will keep the knives from coming out too much. And they’ll be courting the support of delegates, not voters. Delegates are more likely to punish someone for going too negative.
And the delegates were people selected by Biden’s team that were hyped up to go to Chicago and nominate him. These are going to be centrist party loyalists that won’t tolerate any malarkey.
Is anyone ever going to cite the states where the Democratic candidate chosen by the majority of delegates at the Democratic convention cannot appear on the ballot?
Josh: So he’s going to tell Harris first, then Leo’s call to the staff?
Sam: Yes.
Josh: What if Harris is late?
Toby: She won’t be late!
Josh: It happens, people are late.
Toby: She won’t be late!
Josh: If she’s late it’ll leak before she gets here, then she’ll find out on Twitter.
Sam: You mean X?
Josh: Whatever, she’ll find out via Tweet.
Sam: Via Xeet.
Toby: SHE WON’T BE LATE!
Josh: It could happen, what if there’s traffic?
Toby: Then Leo waits to make the call.
[C.J. enters]
CJ: We need to tell the Speaker and the Majority Leader, no public appearances on Wednesday until after the president speaks. And they need talking points.
So we’re gonna do the right thing in replacing Biden, but replace him with the wrong candidate. There’s a reason the betting markets are more bearish on Kamala than any other replacement.
