Arguing about whether the economy is in fact good or bad

Pretty sure this is largely driven by drops on the upper end of the scale, which would be a big difference in the things you care about

Anyways, don’t get news from Murdoch et al

This is not such a bad thing, is it?

Seems like a great thing.

I think the downside is that older cars tend to be worse for the environment and more dangerous.

I got a new (used) car last year and it has a backup camera and a bunch of other collision avoidance features I’d never had before.

Extending the longevity of cars could be a net positive but in the context of the economy it is an indicator of consumer sentiment and lived reality.

I am never getting rid of my 2006 accord, pry it from my cold dead hands

I think you’re confusing cars from the 00’s with cars from the mid-to-late 20th Century.

Consumer spending is fine. Cars are so reliable these days and last so much longer than before.

I was just thinking that. This has to be a positive environmentally speaking.

Obviously it’s because of these posts that the transmission in my 2014 Mazda 3 is failing :-/
