Excellent

This is why they’re going after him for literally buying a cheeseburger.

Starting QB costs $1-2M, but coach can’t buy a kid a cheeseburger without getting suspended is just dumbest shit ever.

In the NCAA’s defense, did the cheeseburger incident predate NIL (nah doesn’t matter, fuck the NCAA).

No really, got to go to a corporate lunch before the 2001 final four games. Dale Brown (Shaq’s college coach at LSU) was the speaker.

Idk the full story but he was claiming they did some stuff and then basically dared the NCAA to come after them. Stuff like

Buying a player a suit for his parents funeral

Buying a player a plane ticket yo visit gravely ill parent.

Providing free dental care to players, many recruits came in with horrible and painful problems.

I have no info on accurate his claims were, but point made.

That would have been from the 80s/90s timeframe.

Harbaugh had illegal contact with a recruit that came to ann arbor on his own during a dead period. There was also something about them watching a kid with cancer on facetime workout.

Then the NCAA claimed Harbaugh lied, the details aren’t publicly available yet.

The kid with cancer thing was chefs kiss NCAA bullshit.

Can’t fucking believe Michigan is about to play in the national championship game. In 1997, I was a Michigan State fan. My parents both graduated from MSU, but I lived in Michigan married housing for the first three years of my life.

I always loved college football, and got into MSU during the Saban years as I turned 10 around then. Started being a Michigan fan in 2003, came so close multiple times but it never happened. I thought for sure UM would beat OSU when they were both undefeated and Bo died, but still didn’t happen.

Then they fucking sucked. Then they got better but still couldn’t beat OSU and I didn’t think they could. 2021 came and I was so happy, and figured they would never be in the same category as Georgia. 2022 came and I was satisfied, but a little disappointed by the TCU loss.

2023 came with real expectations. I expected them to beat OSU. I thought they were better than Bama. I think they’re better than Washington. I won’t be devastated if they lose, but it’s now or never really for a national title type year. It’s going to be so hard to win a national championship and UM will be losing a lot next year.

Now I’m going to a fucking national championship game, and just as importantly an impromptu college reunion with people I should have kept in better touch with. It’s going to be a blast, hopefully capped off with a win
