I’m not “high tech” and I used Jira to build a software & prof serv procurement approval process that worked reasonably well! No software is perfect, but yeah, I was happy to lever existing software to build a solution that project managers and executives could use wthout shooting me in face because frustration.

My company uses Jira pretty extensively, although I seldom get involved with it in my role. It always struck me as something that’s better for the product management folks rather than the people doing the actual work, but I begrudingly have to admit that it is pretty important to prioritize and focus product development, and Jira is at least decent at it.
- Some workers describer her as “bootlicking,” while other say she’s helped guide Musk.

I mean, porting to Mattermost can work (I personally haven’t used it, but know others who think it’s decent but not as good as slack on multiple areas) - but just shutting it down without a replacement is beyond LOLtastic of course.

There are multiple preferable alternatives that also integrate well with Github, Gitlab and other relevant dev tools.
Caveat: haven’t used Jira for 4-5 years now, so it’s theoretically possible it’s not a dumpster fire anymore.

They turned of API access to 3rd party apps last week, you’ll need to use the web interface from now on.
