I think one of the saddest parts of GOP insanity over the last decade is how successful the right has been at getting people to adopt their culture war grievance shit as their entire identity. Dealing a relatively fun $1/3nl game today with zero political conversation. A little old Asian lady folds and says “I wasnt afraid of you (guy who bet), I was afraid of that guy (guy who called)”. That guy immediately goes “did you just assume my gender?!” And uses that a springboard into bashing the left and gender stuff. Like just stfu and play poker man. It’s so unnecessary to be an ass and bring everything back to one of your many grievances. /end rant
