Invasion of Ukraine: Why Doesn't Russia Concede Kursk and Negotiate Peace?

Saw a couple people say usual Ukrainian sources went quiet for quite awhile. Operational security is probably pretty damn serious right now

I just look at michael weiss for the main points, michael koffman for some more specificity, there’s some bro named rob lee who is doing a fair number of threads on actual engagements. Without that tiny area of twitter I’d know what anybody watching CNN knows. Not being able to read Russian well (can speak well enough) is a big hindrance to keeping up with the telegram stuff.

yeah he’s been one of the best twitter follows on this. Lots of videos, which is both good and bad. Good because you can get a lot of info confirmed in a video, bad because it’s combat and you’re watching people dying a lot.

I owe Putin an apology. I guess that’s actually a thing in Russia.

nothing new in this thread, but makes some good points about how the map doesn’t always describe enough to predict success or failure of an offensive action.

The fuck? He did like stretches and stuff to get limber before committing suicide? And his friends filmed him committing suicide? What am I missing?

Feels like we headed to some sort of stalemate with Russia keeping whatever it has left as I can’t imagine the world being too keen on supporting a 3 year grind or something. But also kinda hard to see how Ukraine going to agree/tolerate some end to this if Russia still has potential to periodically shoot missiles/drones at them or whatever

It’s unclear how damaged the bridge is and how long it will take Russia to repair it. As long as the bridge is unusable they will have to make significant detours.

So despite the lack of big territory gains logistically it looks bad for Russia

Someone let me know when the Russians actually perform to ‘expectations’. So far all I see is that a lot of western intelligence analysts were making shit up to justify defense spending. Russia being the #2 military in the world is rapidly seeming less grounded in reality than a Tom Clancy novel.

Russia already build a pontoon bridge. Let’s see how long it will last.

Sure seems like a declaration of a coup?

WW1 kinda ended like this for Russia. It did not go well for the leaders at that time
