Invasion of Ukraine: Why Doesn't Russia Concede Kursk and Negotiate Peace?

Yeah that seems concerning to me as an outsider unless possibly he has a better understanding of the diplomatic issues with various countries and that somehow overpowers the military knowledge in some way

I know the people are photoshopped, but is that an actual jumbo-sized Battleship game?

So many questionsā€”

  1. why Denmark, Norway>>Sweden, Finland?
  2. why Austria = 0? Cheap bastards.

Two, two questions.

Sweden is probably low because theyā€™re not in NATO, and Finland also has their own border to worry about.

The replacement is not a popular choice:

Ugh feels like whole big picture of Ukraine situation spiraling since Rs shut down the cash. Feel like best longterm hope now is just to freeze the battle lines and hope ukr develops or gets given enough long range weapons that its not worth it to Russia to push things further and everyone decides to call it quits and Zelensky rides into sunset before becoming a villain

Or Biden could use the same tricks he used to send Israel weapons to arm the Ukrainians. Iā€™m sorry but one of these wars is a good investment and the closest thing to a just war weā€™ve seen since WW2 and the other is a literal genocide. I donā€™t see how we can use budgetary tricks to support the latter but not the former.

Seemed like they had been doing some stuff for a long time. Like they suddenly would discover that a shipment was worth half as much as authorized through some accounting so then they could go back and send more.

I think what you are referring to wasnā€™t really an accounting trick but correcting a mistake. They initially valued decades old equipment headed for the scrap yard at the full original purchase price which is obviously nonsense.

Are naval ships going to become almost obsolete if everyone has large swarms of increasingly sophisticated drones chasing them?

This is an interesting question, because Iā€™ve also wondered what is the limiting factor preventing Ukraine from just wiping out the entire Russian military with drones? Not enough ammunition? It must be something else Iā€™m not thinking of.

Seems like the US has had decades to think about the issue of hundreds of suicide bombers in small boats speeding toward their fleet before autonomous naval drones were a thing. Similar solution would be needed

I imagine if the Naval ships were further out to sea they would be a more challenging target. Some of this has to do with Russia naval base being so close to Ukraine.

It isnā€™t really clear what happened from that video and what kind of drones where used in the attack, the one explosion that was seen seemed pretty large for a run of the mill drone and also seemed too far above the waterline for it to have been something like was taking the video. Sensing technology and jamming technology will improve and make drones less effective. Although, that technology will be expensive and may not help everyone.
