Sad, but not just American politics. European politics, Israeli politics, Chinese politics, and most importantly Russian politics. There’s lot’s of sources support from Ukraine could and should come from.
Neither Israel nor China guaranteed Ukraine’s safety in exchange for their nuclear weapons.
Fair point, and true. But I still think there are lots of countries that could step up and provide more arms and tech to the Ukrainians even if their moral obligation to do so is lesser than that of USA
No disagreement there. Scholz, for example, is a disgrace.

I’ll believe that this is genuine until there’s some indication to the contrary. It’s quite convenient for Putin though. He wants to do a mass mobilization and set the country more on a war footing.
If the FT reporting was accurate, it looks like Ukraine didn’t take the advice.
