Nobody there wants to start down the road of expelling corrupt senators for obvious reasons.
Already been multiple calls for him to resign or face expulsion after the conviction

As always, itās your constant state of being so you shouldnāt be surprised when someone gives it back to you. But also there hasnāt been any attempt to even have an expulsion vote, just calls for his resignation which are 2 very different things. Maybe theyāll start moving towards it now that that they have a conviction but it was extremely obvious heās been guilty for months now and thereās been nothing.

Ignoring the question of expulsion or not though, long term I think Menendez is extremely safe from legal consequences. Very likely they let him avoid reporting to jail while his appeals are ongoing. Then the only question is whether SCOTUS overturns his conviction 6-3, 9-0, or somewhere in between. I tend to lean closer towards 9-0 but weāll find out in a few years.
He could also just flip to MAGA and get pardoned
