That’s a lot of cash to have on hand.
I absolutely do not believe he has it. I’ve never bought Trump the billionaire. I think he’s probably significantly closer to 0 than a billion. The net value of his assets vs his debts could easily be negative if you actually marked them to market.
And normally that wouldn’t matter because he’s primarily been a money launderer since the late 90’s early 00’s when not randomly luckboxing The Apprentice and the Presidency.
Even after his presidency where Saudi Arabia and other states made favorable deals with Trump to definitely not influence his politics?
Good question, I doubt he has it.
That’s where it gets hard to read. I definitely think he could have 1.5B in bribe money sitting in some numbered account somewhere. But I also think it would be pretty bad for him if he paid this fine out of one of those accounts. Pretty solid way to get those accounts frozen.
He also can’t do business in NY for three years, which means he can’t launder money in NY for three years.
What about his family? I expect their finances are very much intertwined.

Eh, I don’t think a bond company qualifies/runs afoul of the “borrowing” rule there.
What company is gonna lend this guy half a billion? Like he has a record of stiffing people and this isn’t going to fly under the radar.
