We got any waterproof sunscreen aficionados here? I’ve been using whatever version of neutrogena (pictured) is in stores for probably 15+ years for surfing/etc. At some point they retooled the formula to comply with some states regulations and ostensibly make it more reef safe but the waterproofing seems way shittier. Now once my face is wet it drips into eyes/stings (kids notice this too) and my face is getting a little sunburned if physically active in water. Seems to still work fine if staying dry out of water. Anyone got good waterproof recs? I don’t visit reefs so that aspect pretty irrelevant for me and if I do I buy a mineral based one just for that,

It’s not just reefs, you definitely want to stay away from anything with oxybenzone (although use that over nothing at all). Personally as someone who is constantly outdoors in Florida on vacation, I stick with the pure mineral sunscreens and just reapply every two hours. I look like a ghost but they work.

I may have to try some the newer ones, years back seemed I would get burned. I do wear long sleeve rash guards anyway so I literally only putting it on neck/ears/face so my absorption of whatever nefariousness gotta be substantially lower than folks who sunscreen whole body

For a while I was using the Neutrogena sensitive skin face mineral sunscreen SPF 50, but they seem to have discontinued it. I started using this (used it on my last two trips to Florida for my kids and I) and it seems to work very well:

I use it every two hours when not swimming, but if swimming I’d probably do it every hour or so.

Not an expert or anything, but as a very white dude who has an adversarial relationship w/ the sun I use Banana Boat

and it generally works pretty well. Like once a week I’m playing sports outdoors for 2 hours and sweating and it holds up and doesn’t sting my eyes, so, can’t complain.

Same here. Australian sun is brutal and Banana Boat does the job for me. Haven’t surfed for a long time but worked great when I did and don’t think it has changed.

When I play tennis I have to wear a hat to protect my forehead. Doesn’t seeem to matter which sunscreen when I sweat.

Below eyes on down I’m fine.

Yea I cant wear any sunscreen at eye level or above for the same reason

Holy shit that is some speed. As kids we would take I think wax paper to a metal slide and that’s only time I’ve ever seen anything like that speed. Unless maybe he started out on a skateboard and it didn’t make it down somehow lol

No one can figure out how he got going so fast lol

I guess pigs really can fly
