Maybe we are looking at this backwards and Trump picked him so he would look better in comparison. I don’t doubt he picked Vance in part because he never wants another VP who won’t bend the knee during an insurrection. The guy is weak sauce.

It really is amazing the brainwashing that has gone on to boomers and older in this country by FOX News and the right wing media machine.
We were at a birthday party for the kids at the local pool yesterday, and I overheard a couple in their upper 60s’ conversation that went something like “You just better hope that Harris doesn’t get in. She’ll bring about World War III. That’s what they want, you know. That’s what they’re planning. She’s so unqualified. All that should matter to you is Harris not getting in.”
I know that dude will never be persuaded, and isn’t a targeted voter, but that guy has friends and family he’s probably spouting that nonsense to. And I just don’t know how you counteract that kind of gaslighting. Especially when you have a candidate who was the AG of the largest state in the country, a four-year senator and spent the past three years as VP, sitting in on the most consequential policy meetings, etc. She’s probably way more qualified as a POTUS candidate than anyone not named Joe Biden who’s run this century. Yet that garbage is so persuasive to a decent subsect and pervasive in conversation. Just seems wild to me.

any time I hear this baloney I just ask “what are they waiting for? why didn’t dark brandon already do it???” and of course this doesn’t penetrate their skull but it will sort of end the conversation and anyone else there is like “oh yeah what a fucking looney” which is the goal here.
