It should have been Michigan/FSU and Washington/Texas… And they should move the Rose Bowl spot in the playoff rotation so it’s not in this year, and put Ohio State and Oregon in the final Pac/B1G Rose Bowl. Then Alabama and Penn State in a NY6 bowl. Then whatever else, who cares.

FSU has one less loss than Texas and Bama. Other than Texas beating Bama, FSU has the next two best non-conference wins of any of the top 5. FSU won their conference championship game by a larger margin than Bama or Washington. FSU beat LSU by a bigger margin than Bama. College football is dumb.

According to the final CFP rankings, 12 of the top 13 teams in the country are in the SEC and Big Ten next year. The CFP basically just made the argument that there is no reason for those two conferences and the rest of D1 to associate with each other going forward.
