11 Seed: How far I’ll Go — Moana
Oof, holy shit that’s going to be a hard one.
No one beats Dumbo like Gaston!
Yeah, the heartbreak-off is brutal.
I am close to voting for Dumbo. No one sings like Gaston, but that song has way, way too much Le Fou
Somebody put this together just to spite me. I hate both of these
I seeded the 1-16 seed songs, four of each. I didn’t formally randomize or structure the songs within each seed group. I just entered them into the bracket without care and let the chips fall as they will. (17-27 seeds were formally randomized).
(She’s kidding, this just happened after the Moana talk)
AKA almost enough
Well, she’s delivering on the face melter promise based on that first vote this round alone.
It won an Oscar. Oscar winners are all of the1-3 seeds, and 2 of the 4 seeds. The other two 4 seeds are our most-nominated songs. I did seed within the Oscar winners, though, so the 1s and 2s are going to be very strong, but the 3s and 4s are much more likely for upsets.
It’s got 3.2 BILLION views on youtube for the top video for it (and it won an Oscar). I don’t think there’s another song in this bracket with half that many.
“How do you vote against Julie Andrews unless it’s Robin Williams?”
So she chose me so maybe I shouldn’t question this logic
Julie Andrews doesn’t have a single note in that song! I might be a little more sympathetic to it if she did. I mean, she’s on Can’t You Feel the Love Tonight over One Jump ahead, even though One Jump Ahead has as much Robin Williams as Kite has Julie Andrews.
Heh there might have been an oversight
