I remember back in 2017 I was waiting for a WDW monorail when the system went down. The engineer made some kind of comment along the lines of “we need to get Elon Musk here to fix this.” Even back then I cringed. I feel proud of my 2017 self.
He owns Burger King?
BK = Bankrupt.
All the Elon bankruptcy hype forgets about his one actually profitable company that’s also the one he entrusts someone else to run. SpaceX is NASA’s only way of getting humans into orbit other than trusting Russia’s 50+ year old rocket design and one of their rockets (B1062) launched more times this year than their biggest competitor ULA was able to launch using separate rockets. ULA also only has something like 17 of their rockets left and are stuck waiting for Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin to provide more engines for their next generation rocket.
strictly speaking ESA also has rockets, so NASA can collaborate with them. NASA Artemis is also using their own rockets, not spacex
ESA can’t launch people and Artemis is billions of dollars per launch so not really comparable to Soyuz or Falcon.
What constitutes “advanced” driver assistance?
From the original WaPo story it sounds like they’re talking about adaptive cruise control
Driver-assistance technology has grown in popularity as owners have sought to hand over more of the driving tasks to automated features, which do not make the cars autonomous but can offer relief from certain physical demands of driving. Automakers such as Subaru and Honda have added driver-assistance features that act as a more advanced cruise control, keeping set distances from other vehicles, maintaining speed and following marked lane lines on highways.
IF it’s just run of the mill ACC that is on a ton of mass-market vehicles, and a niche car like Tesla making up 70 percent of the crashes with it is lolterrible.
Yeah this is what I’m wondering, what percentage of cars that meet this definition are teslas.
i’m sure the market will not extrapolate anything from this
Lol, he truly is following the Trump business playbook of never paying his debts and going “Fuck You, No” when pushed on it.
IANAL but I swear I remember reading something that said it’s not really possible to sign away your right to sue.
Looks like it briefly served as a boat.
ICWUDT.
Sorry everyone, Elon is finally ready to fix Twitter:
Honestly I’m kind of surprised Twitter is still running at all.
