That’s actually really good news for the world (and unfortunately also Elon Musk / Tesla). We needed everything we had and much much more. I’ve kind of always suspected that the reason we didn’t have more proven deposits of battery component raw materials was a lack of demand though.

Tbf he was on the other end of that with his Twitter acquisition and he was forced to pay the originally agreed upon price. I understand if he doesn’t have any sympathy for Tesla buyers who are out a matter of thousands of dollars.

I think the better analogy would be if a Tesla owner bought a Tesla, drove it off a literal cliff, and was then upset that they could no longer resell the tesla for what they bought it for.

Elon’s right, no point vaccinating millions of people when COVID will blow over by the end of April.
That tweet (and this followup about kids being immune) were the first signs to me that Elon was a fucking moron. I knew he was up his own ass and believed his own hype but he still made cool rockets and cars so it was easy to overlook but actually thinking the 2 week shelter in place orders would be lifted so soon was just too much. Thinking they’d be lifted so soon because cases would be “close to 0” is…whatever the opposite of a galaxy brain take is.

What is he trying to say? I’m removing “potentially” and “cure”—so what does “ there’s a point where the vaccine is worse, if administered to the whole population, than the disease” mean? Is he saying don’t give it to the young and children because the tradeoffs aren’t worth it? Because if so, that’s jaw-droppingly stupid or Fox brainy.
