Invasion of Ukraine: Why Doesn't Russia Concede Kursk and Negotiate Peace?

Huge if true

Seems surprising, thought I was seeing bunch articles saying Israeli air defense likely would get overwhelmed if they went at it with Hezbollah in Lebanon? Maybe that was just the shorter range stuff

And this is why I hate paywalls lol

Maybe the West will finally realize that we are already at war with Russia.

Cliffs: Ukraineā€™s problems stem from delayed mobilization and insufficient deliveries by its allies

Seeing some stuff that Ukraine has taken some territory in Russia, this different then the couple incursions over last year or two? Havenā€™t looked into many articles yet

No, exactly the same. Those are Russians fighting on Ukraineā€™s side. They will create some chaos for a few days then Russian reinforcements are going to show up and they will have to retreat again.

There are already Russian reports that 4000 troops are on the way.

Must be more of an incursion than they couple dozen militias guys with like 2 pieces of equipment or whatever was last time?

I have to correct this: itā€™s not the same.
Initially it was reported that it was the Russian legion doing another raid. This time it looks like there definitely are Ukrainian troops and brought more than a few armored vehicles. Itā€™s on a much larger scale than seen previously.
Ukraine seems to have been preparing this for months doing drone strikes on key targets.
I still assume the end result will be the same and they will have to withdraw eventually when Russia is able to organize their defenses. I donā€™t see how Ukraine is able to occupy territory at this point.

They gotta be just trying to troll Putin at this point right? Unless there some sort of potentially high value underground target like massive internet data lines or tactical nukes or something they can loot somewhere??

A big deal has been made out of the Sudzha gas metering station that still supplies gas to some EU countries. I donā€™t get it though because the pipeline goes through Ukraine and they could have shut it down anytime they wanted.
I think itā€™s more about forcing Russia to use some of its troops to defend their own territory instead of attacking Ukraine.

Saw some videos commenting on how much more equipment can drive around w/o mines everywhere so wonder if would be possible for them to essentially move a portion of conflict to a non-mines area (and if that even helps Ukraine)

One more thing that actually is important is the rail line supplying Russiaā€™s army group North that Ukraine could cut off if they can advance further. There were some insightful posts and maps on Twitter but I forgot who posted them.

On top of trolling Putin it does send a message to Russian people that the war is on their doorstep and they shouldnā€™t feel comfortable and safe as long as it is going on. Maybe this is useful to breaking their resolve since this is how weaker nations need to defeat stronger nations.
