I don’t think he’s saying anything happened 3 years ago, his position is that they’ve never had the opportunity to show all the evidence. And the indictment is therefore a good thing because now he has subpoena power or something and they can get all the evidence.
Of course, he also scheduled (and then canceled) that press conference a couple of weeks ago where he was finally going to present all the evidence so it’s hard to reconcile all the horseshit that’s sloshing around in there.

I think a loose translation is: since your dumb fuck co-criminals demanded a speedy trial, you now have to be tried at the same time (this October), which means you’ll have to waive discovery rights, and if you want to have a trial after them you lose your appeal rights.

One of the more interesting artifacts of hte Trump Era is how it keeps shifting the Overton window to the right such that right wing monsters like John Bolton and Brian Kemp become decent “middle of the road” politicians.

It’s not even about these people moving further right on the liberal conservative axis. Trump is less conservative than most of them but way more authoritarian and most of his voters love it. They want a strong man who’s going to crush their enemies and put them in their place at the bottom of the social hierarchy. So anyone who believes in rule of law and Democracy comes across as a relative good actor regardless of how conservative they are. It is revealing how few of those guys there are and how quickly the party pushes them aside once Trump won.
