lol, it looks like you can no longer view tweets without being logged in to Twitter? Like I just went to twitter.com/mjs_dc in a browser I wasn’t logged in to and it redirected me to the login page.

Nitter.net still works but this is annoying. My process, such as it is, for being informed about news shit is to see the headlines somewhere else and then hit up a few people on twitter for their takes. For the love of God, move or at least duplicate your content from that hellscape if you’re a journalist. Im not following lebron or taylor swift ffs, rot there, im checking in with like 5-6 people covering the war in Ukraine.

I would bet it’s not long until this breaks tweets here (unless you’re logged in to Twitter on the same browser you’re using to browse SPE).

It may be already broken actually, although it worked ~3 hours ago, but I think it’s just one of these 3rd party skins that let you browse twitter without having to log in, and maybe it didn’t display ads n’ stuff? It’s not a great tool, the searching was pretty bad, like you’d have to remember the exact twitter handle to get a link. I’m getting nothing out of it now though, so maybe riparoni there.

I guess it’s easier to just assume every account is guilty of extreme levels of data scraping than to actually identify the accounts that are.
But it strikes me that since Twitter is by and large a cesspool of misinformation and random nonsense there would be very limited value in using that data to feed into AI systems. It would be more useful to scrape things like wikipedia, reddit, and SPEx.
