The Non-political ANGER THREAD

really tired of self-service froyo. if you want a blizzard at one of these places, the process is

  1. wait in line to beg the staff for a cup (they only have the short wide tubs out for the public)
  2. wait in line to get soft serve
  3. wait in line to get toppings
  4. guess at something approaching the right yogurt/toppings ratio
  5. wait in line to hand the cup to the employee to blend it
  6. get cup back and see that the contents have settled during blending
  7. get back in line for more soft serve
  8. get back in line for more topping
  9. get in line to pay
  10. $18 for two medium blizzards, FOH
  11. the POS system asks for a tip, here’s a tip, GO FUCK YOURSELF

But yeah some of these systems asking for tips in places that clearly don’t warrant it are soooo tilting. Same with those donations at checkout, which are often a total scam.

I will be next time

last night we went to a new place that just opened, it’s a local-ish chain, their other locations are full service but this one is self-service and on top of that they’re in this mixed-use development that has way too little parking for the number of tennants they have, will definitely not be coming back

wtf haven’t flown in awhile and had like 10 minutes to find/eat food in Lax so first thing I saw picked 3 grab and go sandwiches with cans of water and yogurt and came out to 99 dollars. Still wondering if maybe this was some “famous” sandwich or something

Sounds about right. Grab and go sandwiches in casinos are like $15+ these days, drinks are $3+, yogurt/fruit cups are like $7+. So you’re at $25 a person minimum plus tax, so low $80s would be the minimum of expect to pay in an airport.

left a three-star review on google maps pointing out that their decision to make this particular item a self-service product (they do milkshakes and a couple of other items as full-service) creates a ton of unnecessary waiting and the manager replied with some indignant rant about “not apologizing for being busy” so I deleted the review, posted another pointing out that they absolutely missed the point, deleted that, and then just left a 1-star review with no comments.

Business owners who respond with active hostility to bad reviews are a special bunch.

Pretty much the only situation where it’s remotely acceptable is when a certain type of customer tries to weaponize reviews. Those people are an opportunity for a business owner to win business by being funny.

PVN’s review sounds like it had actual constructive criticism. Being anything but gracious there is dumb.

That’s pretty good. Congrats!

Gonna give a special shout-out to my daughter’s pediatrician here. I can call basically any morning when they wake up sick (like today) and get a day of appointment). I show up 10 minutes early to be polite, and they always have us in a room within 2-3 minutes. Bonus points: He got a negative review on Google by a parent who complained that he told the parent that he wouldn’t accept the kid as a patient because the parent wouldn’t vaccinate the kid, and he didn’t treat kids whose parents are idiots.

yeah, we have fun conversations every time I come in. He correctly predicted that we’d start seeing polio cases again.

That sounds like an A++ pediatrician. Tell him your random internet friends appreciate him.
