I’m guessing they’ll put a bunch of hoops to jump through both for women and Drs. Yes you have a right to an abortion, but you need to complete these 17 steps and if you miss one, you go to jail. And your Dr has these other 17 steps, and if they miss one, they also go to jail.
It should be noted that Ohio is gerrymandered to holy hell, despite voters voting for an independent redistricting commission. Rs have supermajorities, and no amount of abortion votes are going to change that.
Other than keep ballot initiatives to counter whatever new laws. Bring. It. On. Could get a D governor out of it.
Feeling cautiously better about defending some D seats in the Senate next year.

This highlights two big issues the GOP has going forward. The first we discuss a lot, in presidential races, is Trump. If they don’t run him, he’ll probably tell his base to stay home and attack the candidate and they’ll have issues with turnout. If they do run him, they’re going to struggle with suburban moderates.
Well, they’ve got the same issue on abortion. If they are getting curb stomped on a 15-week ban in Virginia, they’re going to have an existential crisis as a party. The pro-life wing will not show up to vote for people who are happy with the status quo. They caught the car, they want to drive it farther now.
But they can’t even get a 15-week ban through in a swing state that’s only D+3, and that’s like the most liberal position the GOP can possibly take while still getting pro life votes.
Dems can now run on abortion as issue #1 in every race, and they should be able to pull out some impressive results. The key is using that power to do other good stuff, specifically fixing the economy for the bottom 50% and securing our democracy going forward.
That can bridge us to Millennials and Gen Z being the totally dominant voting blocs.
