Good early signs in Virginia…

Why run on slam dunk issues that poll at 60%+ when you personally are threatened by obviously superior millennial candidates as a boomer fossil? Better to use the party machine to crush the good candidates and maintain your position as the country descends into fascism. You’ll be dead when shit gets actually bad anyway.

Taking gambling advice from me is generally -EV.

Looks like Beshar would get crushed in a D primary or ridiculed as a senator for being too moderate?

I mean as a senator from Kentucky I’d love him. I agree he’d have trouble in a presidential primary.

Strange how this happens in a county whose racial makeup is 70/25 B/W.

Every election this happens in a handful of majority-minority precincts, and the left is like, “Of course they never have enough ballots/of course the power went out/of course they fucked the minority voters in XYZ way,” and the derposphere is like “How do the black people always get extended voting hours??? RIGGED!”

Works so well for the racist scumbags. They get to fuck with the minority vote AND cry foul over it, and their idiot base laps it up.

lol they’re going to get their asses handed to them in Ohio.

This is great news, but of course, would have been nice if it was on the ballot in 2024. OTOH probably saves some lives before then, so I”m not going to shed a tear.

I’m imagining shenanigans similar to when voters gave back right to vote to felons in Florida. Or when voters voted to have an independent redistricting commission. Hopefully I’m wrong.

Already posted SD-16 above. Here’s SD-31 below. Barring an unforeseen disaster, Dems will hold the Virginia State Senate.

Lol they tried to make abortion a 60% threshold then the abortion measure got over 60% anyway

Who would have thought that entirely changing the electorates relationship with abortion as a political issue would entirely alter the political meta. I thought the GOP would never blow up RvW entirely because blowing it up entirely would be a huge political mistake. I also thought Donald Trump was going to lose in 2016 both in the primary and in the general because if he won what would come next would be predictably terrible.

I was entirely right about what the consequences would be because they were hilariously obvious… I still can’t quite understand why they did it anyway.

NBC has called it.

Oh, totally forgot about those shenanigans.

Anyone have specific poles for Kentucky? Like with Biden he was something like +12 on who would handle abortion better while being -20 or whatever on economy. Was it the same for Beshear and abortion beat economy or did people give him more credit on economy?

I don’t know enough about the process in Ohio to know what they can do, but if the GOP wants to go down that road, it ends poorly for them.

Literally just scream abortion abortion abortion for the next 12 months, this isn’t hard.

And get ballot measures on abortion on the ballot in every state in 2024.
