if that engineer’s smart he’ll go scorched earth about this and blow it up in the media and take a fat check to stfu
Almost 100% yes. He’s clearly a complete moron and terrible human being. I guess there’s a small chance he’s taken a rapid decline over the past couple years, but far likelier he’s always been this terrible and his other companies succeeded on the backs of actual smart people.
Those engineers did not understand the assignment. They were supposed to amplify his tweets and force them on everyone, and tell him they were being suppressed before by a latent algorithm. He’s got too much ego to admit no one gives a shit about his tweets anymore, so this was his way of asking.
The success of dumb narcissists is the most fascinating and enraging phenomenon in the world, IMO.
SpaceX’s success is almost entirely because of Gwynne Shotwell, the President & COO. Tesla and SpaceX are rumored to have “Elon distraction teams” who try to dangle something shiny in front of him when he tries to do his Twitter dictator shit.
I see Sklansky as a trailblazer in the art of telling people over and over how smart you are until a bunch of simpletons believe you. It’s
basically the same strategy as Trump and Elon.
Weirdly, the more shamelessly outrageous your boasting is, the more the suckers will believe it.
1.9MM to reach out to shareholders. I’d have done it for 1.5
lol, coming to some markets during the Super Bowl:

I’m sure the guy behind this is a dbag:
The commercial, which will be aired in Washington, DC, Austin, Tallahassee, Albany, Atlanta and Sacramento does not paint Tesla in the best light. The ad is part of a multimillion dollar advertising campaign by The Dawn Project. Its founder, Dan O’Dowd, is a California tech CEO who has dedicated millions of his own money (and a failed US Senate race) to the cause.
…but hey, not all heroes wear capes
From their website:
We Demand Software that Never Fails and Can’t Be Hacked
Okay, good luck with that!
People just have a really hard time understanding how complex software is and jump to weird conclusions when they run into bugs. They hit a bug on some mundane website and think they’re being personally singled out for kafkaesque absurdist punishment.
yup
I can understand this because that is how I feel whenever my code is bugged and I can’t figure it out.
if software didn’t have bugs, i’d probably be out of a job.
Holy shit that’s my wife. She gets so mad and frustrated at tech when something goes wrong. She’ll then ask for help and get frustrated that I basically just click buttons until it works again. She wants exact directions about what to do every time.
Now that I think about it, we’re in the exact opposite roles when it comes to baking. Probably some “understand it more so you can just fix it” thing
we all knew this would happen, but he finally did it. how pathetic. wonder what he’s gonna do when tons of users start blocking him? bypass blocks? lol
lol, amazing stuff there.
There’s a legitimate chance they’ll either remove the ability to block at all, or at least make Musk unblockable. As Matt Levine wrote today:
Yeah I don’t read this dude or pay for any media really but this is just a fantastic take. I do get why people like Rupar are still on Twitter. Its still free, for him, and people still see his stuff. But for fucks sake, its getting damn close to the “if there’s 10 people sitting at a table with a nazi there’s 11 nazis” meme. He’s shown us who he is now do something about it. IDK. Maybe I’m naive but I really didn’t think people would still be there after this right wing bullshit.
I like to shitpost and it’s by far the best place to do it. my usage is actually up since elon, but it’s almost nothing to do with him. I also use it as a way to link all my content together in one place, or at least am trying to. I also find interesting stuff occasionally.
and yea, it’s a perfectly reasonable thing for elon to do, I guess, but doesn’t make it any less pathetic or funny.
Yeah, all this change did was cause me to instantly mute Elon so his tweets would stop showing up at the top of my feed.
