oh wow
Yeah, that’s what I’m using, wasn’t sure if the alternating color thing was unique to that theme specifically.
I’ve noticed that when I click on a link from one of the bots it takes me away from the SPE page instead of opening in a new tab or window.
Is this a setting I need to change on my profile? or is this something set up on the site?
There’s a checkbox for “Open all external links in a new tab” under Preferences → Interface, that should do it(?)
That did it, thanks!
I will try to implement your request in pieces, as that’s more flexible (people can choose which parts they want) and also allows me to make incremental progress rather than developing entire themes.
Part 1: alternating colors! There is now an alternating colors group anyone can join. If you are a member of this group, then you will see your topic list alternate colors, regardless of which theme you have selected. @WiggleCat joined the group and his home page now looks like this:
That’s with the default dark theme. If WiggleCat changes to Solarized Dark, same behavior:
Light theme (shield your eyes):
Let me know what you think!
I personally think the alternating post colors on UP are ugly, but if you like them, let me know and I can probably put together a similar group to do that.
Thanks, worked like a charm! I honestly kinda dig the alternating color posts too, so if it’s possible to implement, that would be cool.
This is now implemented as well. As @WiggleCat shows us:
Anyone who wants this behavior can join the Alternating Post Colors group.
Nice work on the new features!
Custom status is also available in the user menu (click on your user pic or letter in the upper right, then click on the Profile (person) icon at the bottom of the right column of icons, select Custom status).
How do the reactions work on phones? Seems like I still just have the heart to click
I had to refresh the page for it to work (not on mobile though).
Press and hold and the emotes will pop up.
I think I fixed the CSS so that reactions will display closer to the like button (on desktop - I think mobile looks right already). Default behavior:
With updated CSS:
Let me know if anyone sees any issues with this.
edit: crap, posts that have likes & replies but no reactions definitely look wrong now. I’ll turn this off and will try to fix.
edit 2: think I got it, this is back on.
FYI my iPhone gives me the copy paste options only when I long press the heart
Edit: oic
Seems like it shows as an alert as a like btw
Also working for me now…
well I’ll be damned
can we get a thumbs down additional emoji?
