For what it’s worth, this is exactly my thinking. But someone asked for the pro-Trump side and I tried to play devil’s advocate and explain why people would be nervous about his chances.

Not buying it, there are relatively few quality general election polls, even fewer swing state general election polls where this will be decided, not nearly enough data to infer there’s something different this cycle than last cycle, this is just a clickbait job by CNN. But if there are more polls like these going into next year I’d start to get concerned, but an incumbent’s advantage usually shows up in crunch time rather than 16 months out.
Like here is something from June 2011 when Mittens was polling even or slightly ahead of Obama.
