That’s a rough way to go. You go for the neti pot without using the proper water, and you’ve got like a 100% chance of clearing up your sinuses and like a 1 in 100 million chance of getting a brain eating amoeba that kills you.
But yeah, this is why you’ve gotta use distilled water or previously boiled tap.
and boil the neti pot too. I dont even reuse them. they’re like $15 and I need one at most once a year.

The slowdown at Amazon’s HQ2 is perhaps the most indicative of how quickly the tides have changed from its ambitions of just a few years ago. Amazon kicked off an international frenzy in 2017 when it announced its search for a second headquarters, saying it wanted to find a place where it could expand to house 50,000 employees. Hundreds of cities and towns around North America threw themselves at Amazon, hoping to attract what were seen as well-paid jobs of the future.
But long-shot hopes were dashed in late 2018, when Amazon announced that it would be split the second headquarters equally between Queens and Arlington, Va., two metro areas where Amazon already had more employees than anywhere else outside of Seattle and the Bay Area.
At the time, the company said that the developments would require $5 billion in construction and other investments. Amazon was offered more than $2 billion in tax incentives from New York and Virginia.
The tax breaks, and concerns over gentrification, caused fierce community, union and political pushback over the campus in Long Island City, and in early 2019, Amazon canceled its plans for the Queens campus.

This was an interesting read, as I used to find Wait But Why very interesting on some subjects, but when he started talking about politics it was very yikes (not MAGA yikes but “both sides should stop fighting so much and dividing us” yikes), and this is a predictable ending:
Urban calls this “ladder” “a thinking lens—a pair of glasses for the brain to help us better understand the world.” For him, it shows us that there are two factions in the contemporary U.S. who pose “an existential risk to liberal societies”: one is extremist Trumpian Republicans (who are discussed in one chapter) and the other is Social Justice Fundamentalists (who are discussed over the course of three chapters). Both are guilty of subscribing to a view of politics Urban calls “Political Disney World,” where there are Good versus Evil struggles with unambiguously correct heroes and unambiguously fiendish villains.
Guy spent the last six years writing his treatise of why centrism is great, and by centrism he overwhelmingly means being anti-SJW above all. What a dunce

It’s vintage Stewart, setting a rhetorical trap for his wrong-headed interlocutor and then, zip, catching him in the snare. Let’s see him wriggle out of this one!
“What’s the leading cause of death amongst children in this country?” Stewart asks. “And I’m going to give you a hint. It’s not drag show readings to children. […] And what you’re telling me is, you don’t mind infringing free speech to protect children from this amorphous thing that you think of.
“But when it comes to children that have died, you don’t give a flying fuck to stop that, because that ‘shall not be infringed,’” Stewart continues, winding up for his big finish. “That is hypocrisy at its highest order.” The show’s logo flashes on the screen; that’s the end of the edited clip. The message is clear: Haha! We one-upped those dumb conservatives again, mission accomplished.
The clip went viral. Is this “right-wing hypocrisy,” or is it the right’s coherent vision for enforcing a very specific social order? What is it going to take for liberals to understand that “hypocrisy” is not a charge for which right-wing authoritarians must answer at the risk of losing clout, but a tenet of and testament to their power? It’s really not complicated: Dahm and his ilk don’t care about protecting children; they care about “protecting” certain children from certain things (like books and drag queens) that they consider threats to a white supremacist patriarchal social order. That’s it! With this understanding, what’s even the point of pretending to debate a creep like Dahm on policy particulars?
